The drive from Denver to Boulder is hectic at first, but once you weed out the city travelers, it's smooth sailing. Oh, and the mountains are breathtaking! In person it looks like a painting - so surreal!

- We started our trip by hitting up the nearby Target in Boulder. We needed some essentials for travel (new flip-flops for Tim, and a new purse for me, oh and apple juice for the road, because who doesn't want lunch-box size apple juice?)

- After Target, we found parking in a outdoor pay-to-park lot that was a block away from Pearl Street - aka an ideal location! We made our way to the bustle of Pearl Street. Our first store visit was the Savannah Bee Company. This store contained so many honey products from raw honeycomb to hand cream. But what really pulled us in was their sign for fresh honey limeade. On this hot day in Boulder, it was the perfect sweet beverage.

- I highly recommend Pearl Street. You can easily spend a day there eating, shopping and people watching. We walked up the length of Pearl Street and back again, popping into fun shops that grabbed our attention. Two of our favorite stops were 1) Peppercorn (who doesn't love a store filled with functional and eclectic household products?!) 2) Boulder Bookstore (lots and lots and lots of books, both new and used!).

- After spending a good portion of our day here, we decided to grab some iced coffees to-go from the Pearl Street Starbucks and packed into the car again for another adventure!

- Next stop: PS Audio Inc. tour! This was Tim's must-see-while-we're-in-Colorado place, being a sound engineer and enthusiast of all things audio, it was a perfect way to spend our afternoon. And I am SO glad we did! The tour was exceptional. Scott, who is Paul's (the CEO/Founder) son, was incredibly insightful on all things PS Audio and just a welcoming person. We saw all sorts of equipment, met some really nice people who work there, and got to jam to some amazing tunes within their audio room. It truly felt like you were at a live recording with crystal clear sound and it was the coolest experience. If you like music or just find speakers/ sound equipment cool, definitely check them out. They offer tours every day they are open - just pop in!

- After our fun PS Audio tour, we felt our stomachs grumbling and decided to grab an early dinner. When researching things to do in Boulder, I came across the Boulder Dushanbe Tea-house. After seeing the pictures and reviews of this tea-house, I knew we MUST stop here. We found parking across the street right in front of Central Park and made our way to this architecturally beautiful building. Inside, it was colorfully decorated and had a large pool in the center of the room with statues of women rising out beyond the tall plants.

- The Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse story of how it came to be is incredible. Apparently, Boulder is the sister-city with Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, and the teahouse was gifted to the city of Boulder. My photo above shows only some of the extravagant details on the ceiling of the teahouse that were hand-crafted by artisans from Tajikistan!

- Once seated next to the central pool, we ordered their house chai to start. The tea was absolutely delicious! We both decided on their Spicy Indonesian Peanut Noodles (rice noodles, veggies, tofu and spicy peanut sauce). This dish was so flavorful with the perfect blend of spice. I was so happy we stopped here, it was a really special experience.

- After dinner, we decided to head back to Denver for some down time to recoup before going out for drinks.

- When we finally worked up the energy to peel ourselves out of bed, we decided to check out the RiNo neighborhood. The Death and Company bar was recommended to me by several people and so we figured this place must be worth checking out. No surprise, it was! - The interior of the bar was swanky and the lighting was dim with beautiful chandeliers to cast a relaxed mood. We were seated at a table on the other side of the room from the bar, which really was ideal as we could sit back and talk without having to yell to be heard. The vibe of the bar was classy and the menu of drinks was unlike any other.

- I had the Jitterbug which featured plum brandy, curacao, and cognac with lime and berry. Tim had the Foxtrot which featured Tequila, Vermouths, Menthe and Mezcal. Death and Co was well worth getting out of bed for. I'm glad we wandered over to RiNo and tried some new drinks. That's what vacationing is meant to be about, right? Trying new things, staying up later than usual, and pushing to see and do more... oh, and the occasional time of relaxation.
