When the summer heat is strong and all I want to do is remain inside in the nice, cool air conditioning, I find myself reaching for a perfect summertime treat.

Smoothie bowls are versatile, filling and fun to make. All you need is a blender, frozen fruit, and any toppings that your heart desires.

This bright pink berry bowl is simple, cooling, and oh-so delicious! Give this recipe a try and tell me what you think by using #holisticliving :)

Easy Vegan Berry Smoothie Bowl Recipe:

1/2 cup Frozen Organic Mixed Berries [my bag included blackberries, raspberries and strawberries]

1/4 cup Frozen Organic Pineapple

1/4 cup Frozen Organic Cherries

1/2 cup Water

Toppings: 1 tsp organic chia seeds, small handful of chopped walnuts and frozen berries.

Directions:

1. Place frozen fruit in blender and add water.

2. Pulse on medium for 30 seconds.

3. Add more water and ice if necessary. Continue to pulse until well blended.

4. Pour into a large breakfast bowl and add toppings of choice.

** A thicker consistency allows for your toppings to remain afloat. Please adjust portions and measurements of ingredients in order to create the perfect consistency for your smoothie bowl.

*** I find that when I use frozen fruit, instead of fresh, I do not need to add ice cubes in my blender. You may find that ice cubes work best in addition to the fruit. The best part is that it is simple and easy to adjust to your liking!
